Lydia Nichols says about her work based in panels: "These days, using 'panels' is really at the heart of my work. It allows me to present several vignettes that can stand on their own, but read collectively, tell a larger story. To top it off, it's a great structure for exploring and experimenting with pattern, type, and color. A lot of this stems from being influenced by folk/street artists and comic artists that make and break panels in their own ways. But I find inspiration from all sort of places; just being out there, seeing and absorbing, is the best way to get inspired and to fuel new ideas".
